Sensitivity and specificity of coherence and phase synchronization analysis

چکیده
In this Letter, we show that coherence and phase synchronization analysis are sensitive but not specific in detecting the correct class of underlying dynamics. We propose procedures to increase specificity and demonstrate the power of the approach by application to paradigmatic dynamic model systems. © 2006 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved. Phase Synchronization and Coherence Analysis: Sensitivity and specificity
In Nonlinear Dynamics synchronization of oscillators is examined. Alternatively for linear stochastic systems, coherence analysis is utilized to detect interdependencies in transfer function systems. In contrast to the latter, oscillators continue oscillating in the absence of interaction between the processes. For transfer function systems the output ceases to exist without an input. Analysis ...
متن کاملDifferentiation of Glomerular from Non-Glomerular Hematuria by Three Different Me-thods of Microscopic Examinations of Erythrocytes in Urine
Background: Morphological examinations of urinary erythrocytes can be of diagnostic value in initial evaluation of hematuria. Dysmorphic urinary red blood cells are known to indicate a glomerular origin of bleeding. We examined the clinical usefulness of this test in a population complained of hematuria by use of three different methods: light microscopy, phase contrast microscopy, and Wright s...
متن کاملRapid Analysis of Glibenclamide Using an Environmentally Benign Stability-Indicating RP-HPLC Method
An environmentally benign RP-HPLC approach for rapid analysis of glibenclamide in pure form, developed nanoemulsion and commercial tablets was developed and validated in present investigation. The green chromatographic identification was performed on Lichrosphere 250 X 4.0 mm RP C8 column having a 5µm packing as a stationary phase using a combination of ethanol: methanol (50:50 % v/v) as a mobi...

AbstractObjectives: To design a short questionnaire on subjective well-being and the assessment of its validity and reliability. Method: Using references, a set of questions was gathered and constructed, and was assessed in two phases. In the first phase, it was randomly administered to 70 Mobarake Steel Complex personnel in Isfahan, Iran, and in the second phase it was administered to 40 perso...
